Madelin came up to my room this morning and told me that she had been listening to the radio and heard the morning DJ's talking about the IRS rebate checks that were being sent out. This is how the conversation went:
Madelin: "Mom, I heard Chris & LaRae on the radio talking about the checks that the government is sending out."
Me: "Really?"
Madelin: "Yeah, Chris said he was spending his on a trip and LaRae said she was going to pay off her credit card bill".
Me: "Paying off bills sounds like a wise way to use the rebate"
Madelin: "They said that the government was sending out like $600 per kid"
Me: "Sort of; it's a little more complicated than that, but it's pretty much true"
Madelin: "So when do I get my money???"
Oh dear.

You have always known since she was born that you'd have to be on your toes to raise such a smart girl! I am not surprised at her comments at all!!
lol - that is great. Make sure you post about what she decides to spend it on...
DO NOT tell Audrey.
hilarious...just tell her she already spent it on rent, food and clothing. In fact tell her that she owes you much more than that and you will start taking payments any time.
gotta love kids.
That's awesome! I can totally imagine Mark saying something like that, at that age. You know what they say about trees and apples. :)
You should ask her if she has ever payed taxes!! That is hilarious.
